Packing & Airlines: Please contact us with questions regarding packing rules and baggage fees. If you play a smaller instrument such as a violin, you can very often carry it on with you, however we will need to confirm this with your airline prior to travel. We recommend asking your teacher, local instrument shop and/or manufacturer for advise on how to pack your instrument for an international performance tour.

Rentals: If you play a larger instrument, such as a bass or cello, and are interested in an instrument rentals. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

Weather Summary

Australia and New Zealand are in the Southern Hemisphere, so their seasons are the opposite of the Northern Hemisphere. This means winter is from June–August. During your tour you will find coolest temperatures in New Zealand and the warmest in Cairns.

New Zealand

Auckland has an oceanic climate, with mild, rainy winters (from June to August) and warm summers. It is the largest city of New Zealand and is located in the northern part of the North Island with June temperatures averaging between 49 and 59 degrees.

Sydney

Sydney’s winter months are June to August when average temperatures drop between 8.8 – 17°C (47.8 – 62.6°F).  Sydney’s rainfall is generally highest in June, with an average of 132 mm (5.2 inches), while July is the coolest month when average daytime temperatures reach about 17°C (62.6°F).

Cairns

Winter in Cairns brings slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity, making it the peak tourist season. Average temperatures range from 17.5 – 26°C (63.5 – 78.8°F) and there is low rainfall.

Brisbane & Gold Coast

Brisbane’s weather in winter is generally dry and mild with mean temperatures between 11 – 21°C (51.8 – 69.8°F). Early mornings and nights can be crisp, but overnight lows rarely drop below 9°C (48.2°F).

Travel Insurance

For your protection, we strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation and travel accident insurance. As an option we are offering trip insurance provided by Travel Insured International. We have registered AYSP as a group tour with the travel insurance provider, in order to secure a discounted price. There are 2 insurance options: Standard Insurance and Cancel for Any Reason. You have the option to add trip insurance when you Register for the tour.

Standard insurance covers events such as illness which prevent you from traveling. Cancel for Any Reason, allows you to cancel for any reason and receive up to 75% of your money paid. Costa Rica Summer Weather

June is a very mild and nice time to visit Costa Rica, it is the beginning of the rainy season so you will experience a combination of both sunshine and rain. Generally, days are sunny with scattered rain showers, typically in the afternoon. The Caribbean coast, including areas like Tortuguero, tend to receive higher rainfall then other regions.

In terms of temperature, June typically sees comfortable temperatures, from the mid-70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit. However, temperatures can vary depending on the specific elevation and location within the country. Tortuguero, is usually a bit cooler, with average high temperatures of around 84°F and lows around 73°F.
